JA Car Alerts ("we", "us", "the Service") is a car-alert aggregator for the Jamaican market. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of jacaralerts.com, our mobile-friendly web app, and related email/WhatsApp alerts (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
JA Car Alerts monitors third-party car classifieds websites (currently jacars.net, autoadsja.com, autochannelja.com, carsjm.com, and jamaicauto.com) and sends you email and/or WhatsApp alerts when a listing matches criteria you save (make, model, price range, year, parish, etc.). We also display a "deal verdict" (e.g. underpriced/fair/overpriced) computed by comparing a listing's price against other similar listings we've tracked, and offer optional one-time Concierge services (vehicle inspection coordination, police record checks, and negotiation support) for an additional fee.
JA Car Alerts is an aggregation and notification service only. We do not own, inspect, list, or sell any vehicle. Every listing surfaced by the Service originates from a third-party website and a third-party seller we do not control and have not vetted. We make no representation about the accuracy of any listing (price, condition, mileage, ownership, or legal status), the identity or legitimacy of any seller, or the outcome of any transaction.
You are solely responsible for verifying a listing and seller before making any payment or agreement. We strongly recommend meeting in a safe, public place, inspecting the vehicle and its paperwork in person, confirming the seller's ownership, and never sending a deposit or wiring money to anyone you have not met. JA Car Alerts is not liable for any loss, fraud, misrepresentation, or dispute arising from a transaction between you and a third-party seller.
The "deal verdict" and price comparison shown on listings are generated by a mathematical comparison against other listings we have tracked for the same or similar make/model within a recent time window. This is not a professional vehicle appraisal, valuation, or financial advice, and should not be relied on as one. Verdicts are automatically hedged (or omitted) when we have too little comparable data — see the label shown on each listing.
You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. You must be able to lawfully enter into a contract to create an account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
The Service offers Basic, Pro, and Pro+ monthly subscription plans, each with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions are billed in USD via PayPal on a recurring monthly basis until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation stops future billing but we do not provide refunds for the remainder of a billing period already paid for, except where required by law. Plan features (number of saved searches, alert channels, priority alerts) are as described on the pricing page at the time of your subscription and may change with notice.
WhatsApp alerts are delivered via CallMeBot, an independent third-party service. To enable WhatsApp alerts you separately opt in with CallMeBot directly (outside our Service) and provide us the resulting API key. We are not responsible for CallMeBot's availability, message delivery, or handling of your phone number once shared with them.
Concierge services (inspection coordination, police record checks, negotiation support) are optional, one-time, paid add-ons, separate from your subscription. We coordinate and facilitate these services, which may be carried out by us or by independent third parties (e.g. mechanics, records offices). We do not guarantee a particular outcome, finding, or result from any Concierge service, and are not liable for the acts or omissions of independent third parties we coordinate with. Concierge fees are due at the time of request and are described on the Concierge page at checkout.
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell Service data in bulk; use the Service to harass or defraud any seller or other user; or interfere with the Service's normal operation.
The JA Car Alerts name, branding, and the Service's own software are our property. Vehicle listing content (photos, descriptions, prices) belongs to the original source website and/or seller; we do not claim ownership of it.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, JA Car Alerts and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a transaction with a third-party seller, inaccurate third-party listing data, or service interruptions from third-party providers (including the source websites, PayPal, or CallMeBot). Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date above.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
